Insomnia - Print of oil painting
THIS IS A PRINT
I tried to sleep.
My body agreed.
My brain didn’t.
So instead of resting, I got up and painted the thing that was already sitting in the room with me.
People think insomnia is “being awake.”
No.
It’s being exhausted, haunted, and fully conscious of every shadow in the room.
Sometimes the mind shuts down.
Mine just… turns the lights off and lets the monsters talk.
This painting is what it feels like to be trapped between waking and dreaming,
when you can’t move, can’t scream, and the only thing louder than the silence
is your heartbeat.
Painted in the hours when everyone else sleeps, except me and whatever this is.
I am working with a small print shop on this one because of the larger print size and because getting this specific red was... a challenge, so it could take 3-4 weeks to ship.
Size: 16.5" x 21", printed on a high quality 100% cotton paper 300 g/m2 (All prices are in CAD)
Please note that color might seem different in person as every digital device and screen have a different color calibration. Sizes might vary by 1/8”.
